The first time you ever wrote a web page, you probably had the corresponding pictures in the same directory on your hard disk. As time goes by, you update the page with different pictures but chances are you did not delete the old ones.

Before long you end up with heaps of redundant pictures in the folder with no idea what is required for the page or which ones are just taking up space.
