nVision automatically discovers the network. Each host is presented on an interactive graphical map. Using either TCP/IP, SNMP, Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and several other specialized probes the program can identify and monitor critical network elements:
- Systems, SNMP devices supporting SNMP v1/2, TCP/IP services (HTTP, POP3, SMTP, FTP and 50 others);
- Mail servers, Web servers and URLs;
- Routers and switches: port mapper and network traffic (MRTG), SNMP device performance;
- Windows services and performance, applications (MS SQL, Exchange, etc.).
nVision provides network inventory: automatically collects node hardware and software information: model, CPU, memory, main board, drives, cards, etc., installed applications and Windows updates. It allows license usage auditing and verification. It will also alert you in case of a program installation or any configuration change. Inventory can be collected with WMI or an nVision agent.
Optional agents can monitor user activity: user activity/inactivity time, application usage, visited web pages. The agent also provides workstation remote control (VNC compatible).
nVision generates a wide range of reports: real-time and historical charts, system & application performance, service and host availability, interface traffic and utilization, inventory, user activity. Reports can be fully customized. It is also very easy to create new ones.
